We understand you may have questions about our programs. Here are answers to some of the most common ones:
How long is the Caring Dads alternative program?
Twenty weekly 50-minute sessions, about twenty weeks. With approval you can take up to three sessions a week, which brings it to roughly seven weeks.
Will my referrer accept an individual format instead of a dads group?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. Orders that name a specific certified group program usually mean that program. Confirm with your court, lawyer or child protection worker before you register, and send us the order if you'd like our read on it.
Is my participation confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and your therapist under privacy laws and professional ethical standards. Your completion report goes to a court or agency only if your order requires it. A confidential individual format is the main reason fathers choose this over a group.
Do I get a certificate or a letter?
A letter, plus a detailed two to three page court or agency report on request. Courts want a full document, and printable certificates are the most common reason people repeat a program.
Are these programs covered by benefits in Canada?
Our therapy sessions may be eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefits, depending on your plan and your therapist's designation. Ask us what to look for in your plan.
What if I miss a session?
Full attendance is required. Missed or incomplete sessions may require re-registration at full fee, and no refunds are issued once the program has started.
