CHOOSING YOUR PROGRAM

Not Sure Which Program Is Right for You?

Watch the video to compare your options and find the program that best fits your requirements.

COMPARE YOUR PARENTING OPTIONS

Is Parenting With a Purpose Right for Your Order?

“Complete a parenting program” can refer to different types of parenting education. The right choice depends on why you were referred and what your court, caseworker, or child protection agency requires.

Choose Parenting With a Purpose If:

Your referral involves a child protection, dependency, or family services matter

Concerns were raised about parenting behaviors or your child’s safety and well-being, rather than conflict between parents

You’re working toward reunification, increased parenting time, or changes to supervised visitation

Your order specifically names Parenting With a Purpose, parenting intervention, or accountability-focused parenting education

You need a program focused on recognizing harmful patterns and developing safer, healthier parenting practices

WHO WE HELP

Do you need a court ordered parenting with a purpose program?

If you recognise yourself in even one of these, you are in the right place, and far from the first.

A judge, lawyer or case manager told you to complete a parenting program and gave you a date.

You have read the order three times and still cannot tell which parenting program it means.

You searched for parenting classes near you and found waiting lists and long drives.

Child protection or family court wants documentation before your next hearing.

You are working toward reunification or supervised visitation and need to show progress.

Nobody ordered you. You just know it's time for change.

WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T EXPECT

Court-Ordered Parenting Programs Shouldn't Be This Complicated

Your court order may simply say "complete a parenting with a purpose program." But it may not tell you how many hours you need, which format qualifies, or what documentation you'll need when you're finished. And while you're trying to figure it out, your deadline keeps getting closer.

No One to Ask

Asking means explaining why you need a parenting program. So you put it off another week, and another.

Waiting costs

Your lawyer bills by the hour whether you've enrolled or not. Add time off work and the drive to a local class.

Rejection

Your court rejected a cheap online parenting course. Now you pay twice!

What Matters Is What You Hand to the Court

Your court, case manager or child protection worker needs documentation they can verify. Court Counseling Institute provides a detailed completion letter with your instructor's name, professional credentials, signature, completed hours and dates, topics covered, and contact information for verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand you may have questions about our programs. Here are answers to some of the most common ones:

How long are parenting with a purpose programs?

It depends on the format your court accepts. Our live class runs three full days. The parenting course online takes 20 hours or more at your own pace. Parenting therapy is twenty weekly sessions, or faster if your court approves a more frequent schedule.

Will my court accept a court approved parenting course taken online?

Our programs have been approved in courts across the U.S., Canada and Australia for close to twenty years. No provider is accepted everywhere, though, and every judge, case manager or child protection worker sets their own rules. Confirm before you enroll and we will help you check.

Which parenting program does my order mean?

Four different things at CCI. If your order concerns how you and the other parent deal with each other, it usually means one of the co-parenting programs. If it concerns your own parenting behaviour, or comes from a child protection matter, it usually means Parenting with a Purpose. Foundations of Parenting covers general parenting support. Send us what your order says and we will tell you which one it is before you pay for anything.

Who is this NOT for?

Not for you if your case involves sexual assault charges, if your court named a provider we are not on or a parenting program we do not run, if your order requires in-person attendance, or if you want a certificate to buy rather than a program to complete. Ask us and we will tell you honestly.

Do I get a certificate or a letter?

A letter. It lists your dates, hours, topics covered and your clinician's credentials. Therapy clients also receive a detailed progress summary, and legal verification letters are available for courts or child protection agencies on request. Courts want a full document, and printable certificates are the most common reason people repeat a program.

Can I complete the whole program online?

Yes. All three formats run online start to finish, so there is nothing to travel to. No waiting lists, no time off work, and you can start today rather than waiting for a local intake date.

Can I do a parenting program alongside another court-ordered program?

Yes. Many clients are ordered to complete more than one — often a parenting program alongside anger management, domestic violence, or substance abuse. Tell us what your order says and we will arrange the sequence and the paperwork so nothing is duplicated or missed.
