Frequently Asked Questions

We understand you may have questions about our programs. Here are answers to some of the most common ones:

How long are animal abuse programs?

It depends on the format your court accepts. The online course takes 10 hours or more at your own pace. Animal Abuse therapy is ten weekly sessions, about ten weeks.

Will my court accept a court approved animal abuse course taken online?

Our programs have been approved in courts across the U.S., Canada and Australia for close to twenty years. No provider is accepted everywhere, though, and every judge and probation officer sets their own rules. Confirm before you enrol and we will help you check.

Who is this NOT for?

Not for you if your order names a domestic violence, anger management or sexual boundaries program, if your court named a provider we are not on, if your order requires in-person attendance, if you cannot commit to completing every component, or if you want a certificate to buy rather than a program to complete. Ask us and we will tell you honestly.

Do I get a certificate or a letter?

A letter. It lists your dates, hours, topics covered and your clinician's credentials, and is issued only after all components are completed and reviewed. Therapy clients receive a two to three page progress report, and verification letters for courts or licensing bodies are available on request. Courts want a full document, and printable certificates are the most common reason people repeat a program.

Is my participation confidential?

Yes. What you share during the program and in your assignments is kept confidential under privacy laws and professional ethical standards. Your completion letter or progress report may be shared with a court, probation officer or licensing body if your order requires it, that is the only information that leaves us.

Can I complete the whole program online?

Yes. Both formats run online start to finish, so there is nothing to travel to. No waiting lists, no time off work, and you can start today rather than waiting for a local intake date.

What is the difference between the online course and therapy?

The online course teaches the curriculum at your own pace and suits education-focused orders. Therapy is one-to-one across ten sessions and works on the patterns underneath the relationship difficulties. If your order names counseling, treatment or a session count, choose therapy, because the course will not satisfy it.
